Many Benner grew up as the son of Jean Benner and nephew of the famous Emmanuel Benner in an artistic family.
At age 16 he attended the École des Beaux-Arts, and was soon honored with high awards and medals.

While his uncle Emmanuel Benner also frequently painted nudes, but still characterized by naturalism and symbolism, Many Benner transcended models in an ethereal level. Thus he is able, with little color and resolution forms to emphasize the beauty of the body but leave covered by a spell.
